Readers may recall me mentioning writing a short story inspired by the relationship of Italian Renaissance poet Laudomia Forteguerri and Duchess Margaret of Parma. I'm now delighted to be able to announce that the story, "Where My Heart Goes", will be included in the anthology Through the Hourglass: Lesbian Historical Romance.

Thanks! It's all part of my long-term plan to infiltrate a wider variety of readerships with my work. I know some people would argue for using different pen names for the fantasy, the historicals, the non-fiction, and whatnot. But my "brand" is so fuzzy and intersectional that the only way I can establish it is to keep everything under one heading.

I think that's an excellent approach, and I wish it was more common. The narrowness imposed by genre categories is unhelpful in many ways, particularly for intersectional writers.

Thanks -- I'm looking forward to seeing what else is included. Although since the guidelines seemed to think that the 16th century was unimaginably early, I don't know whether I'll get much of a medieval fix!
