Minor catch-up
Sep. 24th, 2006 10:28 pmHaven't posted much this week and I don't have time at the moment for much (since I've really truly promised myself to be in bed by 11). Coronet was fun and laid back. I manged to catch up on lots of sleep (and successfully fought off a headache that's been plaguing me since Friday -- allergies, I think) which isn't always easy to do at an event. The Birka-inspired hem band got finished and added to HH's Viking overdress in time to be entered into the competition (and then to get worn on Sunday). I could make some very misleadingly salacious comments about someone else's personal effects getting left in my bed Saturday evening, but the lady in question was only borrowing it for a bit of an emergency lie-down after court on Saturday. Having abruptly realized that next weekend is Crown Tournament, I've concluded that I'll be day-tripping. I'm feeling rather washed out still. Tomorrow I hope to put together a book review for Ellen Kushner's latest. And I want brownie points for not posting any pointless rebuttals over on rec.arts.sf.composition to the assholes who are totally misrepresenting my postings on a certain thread. I've halfway started and then deleted about a dozen posts so far. (This is not made easy by my having switched to MacSoup as a newsreader -- it considers "close window" to mean "que to send". Once you've started a reply, you have to actually open up the outbox, select the message, then delete it in order to avoid sending it. Otherwise, I've gotten rather fond of it as program.)
