Weddings and traditions
Oct. 29th, 2006 06:24 pmWent to the wedding of
semy_of_pearls and
shadowwalkyr today. I like weddings of SCA folks -- typically the dress code is "dress up -- interpret at will", which makes for fun people-watching. And typically you get an event that is both very individual and eclectic and very well run. This is especially the case when the bride's circle of friends includes great gobs of event-autocrats, costumers, and feast-cooks. I did feel a little sympathy for the groom's family who were rather badly outnumbered, but they seemed to have as good a time as everyone else. I've continued my own personal wedding tradition by catching the bride's bouquet -- and no elbowing, high-jumping, or diving catches (this time). (I think this makes a lifetime total in excess of half a dozen so far.) Best wishes to the bride and groom!
