Sat. Dec 26: Chapter 31 (Margerit) solidly outlined but needs updating
Sun. Dec 27: Chapter 32 (Luzie) solidly outlined but needs updating -- and done!

Yes, I find that the "manageable bites" in combination with "only this much and then take a break" works fairly well for me.

Finishing a book in first draft always feels like a marathon.

(Weirdly, my experience is that redrafts are never quite as daunting, even if you have to hacksaw the last 50% off the book and rewrite it from scratch. YMMV, obviously, but I think it's something to do with seeing the work take form as a whole for the first time, even if it needs a bit more polishing. Once you've seen it as even an imperfect thing, you can at least believe that it's possible ...)
