One of my New Year's Irresolutions is to comment more on other people's journals. I was originally thinking of "make a comment on everything in my feed", but quite honestly, sometimes people post things where it simply wouldn't be appropriate to comment. I think I'm managing something on maybe 60% of of what I read. We'll see if I keep it up. At least there's the advantage that -- unlike facebook and twitter -- my phone interface for LiveJournal is so crappy that I never use it to read things. So I won't have that added bar of "Do I have anything interesting enough to say that's worth typing on a phone screen?"

Does the ElJay app not work for your phone? I in many ways I like its interface better than the LJ web page on the computer.

It "works", it just works very badly. Badly enough that I never use it.

I wonder why the difference, it works great on my Android. But then, I suppose that it is difficult to make apps work well on all platforms.

I'm doing the same after talking with you on Saturday, and finding the same thing - not everything is something I can comment on. Alas. The LJ mobile app is garbage, I deleted it with extreme prejudice.

It seems like a good resolution. I've been falling out of a habit of doing that (if I was ever in one), and it means that I'm reading a lot more than I'm writing, and so the connection I'm getting to people is becoming rather one-way. Which isn't good....

I realize that my appreciation for a lot of posts is not communicated because I read and then don't respond. However, I want responses on my posts. I need to be more responsive as well.

That was one of the reasons for my irresolution: to "be the change" as they say.

It's why I prefer to read and respond on my tablet. Besides my phone is too old. I just have to remember I've got this app on my tablet to use, which I will be reading and responding here in LJ more often.
