I've finished the first editing pass of Mother of Souls and added all the changes to the computer file. Amusingly, the overall word count has only changed by just short of 500 words. This editing pass was primarily to align all the elements that shifted, changed, or winked in and out of being during the process of writing the first draft. The next pass will focus on making the descriptions more vivid and stripping out boring and empty language. This pass will be done directly in the computer file and, in theory, doesn't involve changing any actual facts.

I'll be sending the file out to beta readers after the second pass (which is a bit less polished than I've sent out in the past, but I don't want to rush people). And that means I can't put off soliciting a few special-topic beta readers.

You'd mentioned the desire to have a M2F trans person to read some things. If you still are in need, I have a friend I can talk to.

The viewpoint I'm looking for is a trans man (F2M--I have a vague feeling that that "F2M" and the reverse are becoming deprecated as terminology, so I hope the various nomenclatures haven't caused me to be unclear), so while good beta-readers are always appreciated, your friend may not be the specific angle I most need in this case.

I typed M2F but MEANT F2M -- sorry about that!

OK. Go ahead and sound him out about. I'll also be soliciting on twitter. (On the average, I get actual feedback from 50% of the people who volunteer, so especially for the special topics, I'll be trying to get multiple readers.)

*bounce bounce*

In other news: I know a grand total of 3 trans men, one a good friend's messy-divorce ex so I don't like to ask him, one far outside my immediate circle now, one who I'm still angry with because he's a former friend's boyfriend who prised the friend away from our fantasy writers' group (not a reader at all, sadly). So, sorry, I can't help you with that.
