A door opens ...
Nov. 12th, 2006 09:24 pmYesterday was Mists Investiture, so now I'm officially off the job of being on court. It was an interesting experience. Leave it at that.
Today was door-shopping day. (This is as opposed to window-shopping, which is every day.) I've verified that the back door opening is still a standard size, and selected a model to replace it that will be significantly more secure. (It turns out the current door wasn't actually installed backwards -- it's just designed bass-ackwards.) I've managed to make contact with two out of three of the contractor's references and things look good on that end. So tomorrow there's a three-step process. Call the door people and find out if the warehouse has my model in stock (and therefore it can be delivered this week) or will need to make one up (and therefore it'll take 4-5 weeks). With that answer, I contact the contractor and in case #1 verify that he can start work this week, or in case #2 see if he thinks it'll work to do the rot repair and the door swap as separate items. Then the branching options continue. I've also gone ahead and posted the couch and loveseat on the freecycle e-mail list. Hope things keep falling into place.
