Judith Tarr, Melissa Scott, Martha Wells...and me?

What's this about? I'm delighted to have been invited to participate in a Historic Fantasy Storybundle, organized by the fabulous Melissa Scott. If you aren't familiar with StoryBundle, it's a promotional project that rests on a few basic principles:

I really like Judith Tarr's work. The others look very interesting.

Those are two of Tarr's books that I haven't read yet, which is convenient. I've loved many of her others. I've read one of the Scott and have the other in hard copy (which means I haven't gotten around to it yet). The other authors have been farther away from my radar, although I've heard lots of great things about Wells.

Definitely cool! I've been sitting on this for half a year now (there's quite a bit of lead time in the logistics). You can't exactly announce how excited you are about an upcoming sale price -- then everyone would wait to buy!

I tell you, I held out against e-books for quite a while, mostly for esthetic reasons. But then when I capitulated and bought an iPad, I actually started reading regularly again. Which I had stopped doing.

Ebooks were my salvation while traveling--it saved me hauling an entire duffel bag of books.

Ebooks save space. So much space. Space which you can then use for the research library, or, if you're traveling, for clothes.

As something of a "loss leader" the real hope is for knock-on effects, where people who might not otherwise have thought about reading my book get hooked and go out and buy the rest. (Well, "the other" at this point, but the idea is to get them hooked.)

Yes, I've been meaning to try Wells -- the only thing I know I've consumed of hers was an audio version of one of the Ile-Rien shorts that was on a podcast I subscribe to. And by chance I haven't read either of the Tarr books that are included.
