Un-Turkey Day

We had our family thanksgiving dinner on Tuesday, with turkey and all the trimmings then more rounds of card games and Settlers. It was a bit odd not to have the football games on in the background, though. Then yesterday evening I caught the bus and train to get me down to Timonium by dawn. I was afraid I'd have to sit around in the hotel lobby for a few hours until I could get into the room, but it turns out my roomie got in yesterday, so I could move straight on to hitting the hotel exercise room, shower, and breakfast. While passing through BWI changing from train to shuttle van, I got a look at today's airport security lines. Glad I'm not flying today!
Today I am thankful:
Today I am thankful:
- That mom is doing as well as she is, despite the myeloma. As she points out, other than the hip replacement and the blood clot issue, there haven't been significant effects/side-effects so far.
- For having a job that is not only an enormous amount of fun but that is stable, well-paying, well-benefitted, and that I'm good at.
- For having a family that actively enjoys spending time together.
- For my friends (even if I do often seem to live a hermit's life).
- That there is room in my life for far more enjoyable creative efforts than I can ever manage to accomplish. (I don't understand people who can manage to be bored with life.)
- That my door got installed.
