I don't usually do these, but I'm sitting here bored and sick, so

1. Go to popculturemadness.com/Music/index.html, and find the greatest hits for the year you turned 18 (on the left-hand side)
2. Select at least the first 40
3. Bold the ones you like
4. Strike out the ones you hate
5. Italicize the ones you are familiar with but neither like nor hate
6 Leave the ones you don't know as is.
I will be handicapped in that I don't always recognize songs from the title and/or band, but anything that doesn't ring a bell will count as "don't know". I'd also modify "hate" to "wouldn't deliberately go out of my way to hear". There are only a few songs I actively hate enough that, for example, I'd delete them from my iPod if they appeared in an album with something I liked.

I kind of like "Golden Years" by David Bowie
I am at least amused by "Don't Fear the Reaper" (Romeo and Juliet, were together in eternity... come on baby don't fear the reaper...) (I always thought "Ok, sure, but it really sucked how they handled this life eh?) ;-)
