With help from [livejournal.com profile] cryptocosm and his pickup truck, I picked up the rest of the cabinets than now form my Wall O Stuff in the living room. We finished up the assembly and moving of large furniture pieces then broke for dinner (see review below). Since then I've moved about ¾ of the stuff out of the spare bedroom: filled the wall unit with media and fabric and piled a large number of assorted bags and boxes in the middle of the room for sorting through. Still a lot to do, but the big roadblocks have been taken care of.

Restaurant review: There's a new sushi restaurant in my neighborhood -- Miyozen at the intersection of San Pablo Blvd and 40th St. I've been meaning to check it out since it opened but hadn't found the time until today. Definitely thumbs up on this one. The quality of the fish is excellent. I mostly went for single-item nigiri and rolls, although they have a wide selection of fancy combination rolls and I saw some going by on the conveyer belt (their version of "boats") that I want to try in the future. The only one I was less than excited about was the red snapper, which seemed a bit fibrous -- but that may be how it's supposed to feel; this was my first try. The fish portions were quite generous and priced comparably to the average elsewhere. The service was very attentive (although this may partly be because we were there before the main dinner rush and the staff-to-customer ratio was rather high). The layout of the restaurant is both elegant and cozy, with several different seating areas with different "feels". I'm already plotting who I can drag in with me next.

Great! Sometime after the holiday madness, we should get together and take a second Miyozen reading. (And you guys are still on my list for dinner parties -- I just got sidetracked by the physical disorganization of the house.
