 I don't know that there's any point to saying it here, but the new Live Journal Terms of Service requirement are the final nail in the coffin. I'll accept the agreement only long enough to delete my account there. Since I've had the sticky post up for three months pointing people to my DW account and my alpennia.com blog, I figure anyone who cares knows how to find me once I disappear.

Good question. I'm sure it's possible. (My site runs by Drupal and they have plug-ins for almost anything.) With the high volume of posts I make, it's not the route that would ordinarily occur to me. On the other hand, there are people who subscribe to the comments at File 770 and that's a firehose if I ever saw one! I'll look into it.

I do plan to set up an author e-newsletter, but it would be only a once a month (or special announcements) sort of thing.

I like getting email notifications. It means I can save something and click through later, and not forget that it's there.

Oh, I'm a firm believer in having lots of different methods of consumption on offer. I just have to have requests for ones that it would never occur to me to want. I mean, I get notifications for your blogs but the danger is that they disappear into the strata of the in-box and are never seen again.
