I've just been phished by my own website. I'm still sputtering. In the following, visualize my domain name substituted for **.

" Dear Valued Member,
"According to our terms of services, you will have to confirm your e-mail by the following link, or your account will be suspended within 24 hours for security reasons.
"[clearly bogus link purporting to be located on my web site but actually connecting to some place called mailsecuritycenter.org]
" After following the instructions in the sheet, your account will not be interrupted and will continue as normal.
"Thanks for your attention to this request. We apologize for any inconvenience.
"Sincerely, ** Abuse Department"
At work we have entered the season of "you didn't really think you were going to get productive work done, did you?" Date: 2006-12-21 03:37 pm (UTC)I was expecting you to report that your own admins wanted you to email them your password. I once dealt with a hosting company that was clueless enough to request that in order to fix a problem, and I ditched the company almost immediately.

Date: 2006-12-21 04:21 pm (UTC)My candidate for "most clueless spam" was the folks who were offering me "3.3" for my mortgage, "based on financial report for your property p.o.box XXXX..."
I didn't save a copy of the folks were were going to save me $400 - $600 per month on same property.
