Got a half-case of onomastics books into place, which means I have three of the seven dining room book cases organized. Shelf-checked the general linguistics / onomastics-overflow check and got all the old class readers and class notes stripped out for recycling. Finishing the book movements will be my temptation this weekend when the primary job is putting together the Consonance songbook.

The meeting with the tax folks yesterday was just more making sure they had all the papers and numbers together and going over it together to annotate and explain all the non-obvious stuff. So we'll have the final meeting (which is basically just me picking up my copies of the forms and handing them a check) a week from Monday. They wouldn't even give me a wild guess what I might be getting back ... although a fair amount of it will be eaten up by what I'm paying them. I think next year, instead of doing the tax forms in parallel to see how well mine match theirs, I'm simply going to go back to doing it myself. I appreciate their expertise for this complicated and unusual year, but I'm not sure that in an ordinary year I'd be getting enough added value from their work (above my own) to make it worth their fees.

Over the course of the week, I've gotten very comfortable with the new computer glasses. It'll be a bit more time before swapping them with the regular glasses becomes completely automatic, but I seem to have succeeded in training my brain that if I'm looking at a computer, it should all be in focus, and that if I'm wearing (the computer) glasses and things in the distance are a bit fuzzy, I don't need to tense up the ear-moving muscles at the back of the skull to pull the glasses farther up my nose (which was giving me a bit of a headache on Monday).

We had another of those cute little earthquakes this afternoon -- the epicenter was essentially identical to the cluster in December. It'll be interesting to see if this is the first of another cluster (although, in geologic time, it's practically simultaneous with the December quakes of course).

I've had computer glasses for years, but I suspect on Monday I'll be getting a pair of non-computer glasses as well.

That's been tripping me up a bit as well. But I'm getting used to it, I think. The fun part is getting up when done at the computer and forgetting to swap glasses, then realizing halfway down the stairs that something's not right. D'oh!
