A question for those reading

I set up this dreamwidth account back during the great "OMG! LJ is going to incinerate!" scare, just to have it available (and to snag the same user name I use at LJ). But I haven't done much with it simply because of the logistics of maintaining and following multiple parallel blogs. And having moved my primary blog to my Alpennia.com website several months ago, I've been working on further reducing the amount of manual duplication of content I have to do.

My blog now has an RSS feed, and in addition I've finally gotten it set up to mirror content onto Live Journal automatically. What I'm trying to sound out is whether there's enough interest for me to set up an RSS feed here on dreamwidth or to see if I can hunt down a Drupal thingamabob to send a mirror post here the way I can on LJ. (My web designers think there isn't one for dreamwidth, but someone here might know better.) Evidently I can't just bounce the LJ content here (and since the Drupal-based mirror function is only set up for LJ, I can't just go the other direction).

I've never really worked on developing a separate network here, and most of the people who have me on their dw reading list are also reading me elsewhere. So...is it worth it? Any suggestions?

There probably isn't a separate plugin for dreamwidth, but since DW uses the LJ API, anything other than messing with separate reading/access lists (not a problem for you) should work exactly as with LJ, if you simply point the plugin to the dreamwidth.org server.

I'll take a look at that. If it's that similar to LJ, then I'd be surprised if no one has adapted the Drupal LJ-posting module to do it.

I created my DW account for the same reasons. I read DW and LJ because there's been some fragmentation among my friends. So I'll see your posts on LJ if you don't post them here, and that's good enough for me. Lots of people are only on LJ; so long as the platform exists I'll be reading there.

(I wish I could cross-post without giving DW my LJ password, which I'm unwilling to do, and without doing it manually, which I'm also unwilling to do. I want a client that can multi-post for me and create the cross-links. But I can't have it, so, eh, oh well.)

Yeah, it's just hard to know whether there'd be enough of a separate audience on DW to make it worth setting up the separate cross-post.
