With everyone mentioning the tax deadline, it occurred to me that I should have gotten my federal refund by now, since it's been about a month since I filed. So I used the handy dandy "where's my refund" feature on the irs.gov web site and discovered that they claim they mailed it to me March 23 ... but that I can't officially complain to them about it until April 20. It seems to me that a government agency would have more confidence in the timeliness of the U.S. Mail than that. (Since the web site specifically says "The IRS assists taxpayers in obtaining replacement checks for refunds that are verified as lost or stolen" I'm not totally freaking out about this. *sigh* I've been thinking about investing in a key-secured mailbox. After all, 60% of it can be a business expense.)
