You know that little sore throat I mentioned? Yesterday it seemed to be fading away and I made it through work, but last night I was up for hours coughing my lungs up. I made it as far as walking in the door of the office at work and then announced I was going home again. So it's been a day on the recliner with large quantities of soup and hot lemonade and arguing with the cat about whether she's helping me rest. Bleh.

The lack of sleep is a prime candidate. I'm caught in the endless conflict between not wanting to "waste" vacation days on flying a non-redeye flight and the knowledge that I'm too old to skip an entire night's sleep before all the late nights at the conference, and too creaky to be able to sleep well on the plane.

I hear that--we'll be taking a red-eye home from KWDS because I didn't want to squander a vacation day in the air :-/
