I confess, I do ego-surf on Google periodically. This is the first time I've gotten a hit on Google Scholar -- someone has cited my PhD dissertation in their own research. Too cool.
I do ego-surf every now and again as well, but it's kind of a pain for me since there is a Tim Converse out there who works for Yahoo and writes all kinds of programming and webdesign books.
I usually have more luck finding things relating to "Santiago the Magician." *smile*
Well, congratulations. You've gone past "published" to "cited" - what's next? "Reviewed"?
It had been a while since I googled myself. There are now 22 pages of "Bob Laurent," most of which are not me. When I first did this (before google; I think I used AltaVista), I was the only one that would come up. Kind of disappointing to loose my uniqueness.
I had my first (non-SCA) experience of someone seeking me out at a conference to introduce herself and say she'd downloaded something of mine off the internet and found it very helpful! It turned out to be the handout on medieval logic that I'd made for last year's Kingdom University class...
