Final damage tally: 3 large plastic food storage containers (only one of which contained anything edible), 1 one-gallon water bottle (used for camping), 1 green cloth shopping bag, 1 box mango nectar, approximately 1/2 c. bird seed.

I'm glad it's gone, but would be cautious, in that he/she may have had close friends or relatives in the very near vicinity. I.e, I'd assume another rat also needs dispatching.
