I am mourning the thought of leaving this house
Like the anticipation of a death in the family,
And yet --
The things I have done to make it my own,
I could do again.
The things I have surrounded myself with to line my nest
Would come with me.
And wherever I go,
I will plant plums and roses.
There must always be plums and roses.

I look forward to seeing the thoughts you share as you do the research for moving--I can't see you doing it without having first crunched lots of numbers, not only in the categories you list in replies to comments here, but in other categories as well--there are ever so many quantifiable factors.

Someday I will be in a position where it will be possible to purchase a house--when that happens the lessons I learn from watching you decide where you'd be willing to move will be a great asset. Even if you wind up choosing not to move, the research you do before coming to that decision will be interesting to me.
