Brief review: Pirates of the Carribean #3 -- As advertised. Lots of action. Swashes buckled. Designed for those who need constant massive visual stimulation. Plot? Logical sequence? Ends tied up? Whaddaya think this is, literature?

The lawn got well and truly mowed, edged, and weed-whipped. This included picking up the last bits of leftover lumber and whatnot from the construction last December ... you know, the stuff the contractor was supposed to clean up when he was done? Not sufficiently annoying to not hire him for the rest of the misc. jobs and painting, but sufficiently that I may write into the contract that final completion of payment occurs after all cleanup is complete. I also attacked the backyard forest with pruners and after removing two green-cans full of fig limbs, one can again walk from one end of the yard to the other again without ducking. I hate that fig tree.

Saw Pirates today myself..

Excellent review, you just said in two lines what was going to take me several paragraphs. I bow to your superior editing abilities. If only they'd had you on that film...

Walt's comment: "The fig tree is on her property. She can have it taken out."

I probably will at some point, but it'll take a professional to get the stump out sufficiently (given how prone it is to sending suckers up from the roots). There's also a question of whether it comes under the city code protecting trees with a trunk diameter of 6" or more -- in which case I'd need to get a permit for removal. (Or rather, I'd need to get a permit if I didn't want to rely on nobody noticing and caring enough to report me.) But no hurry -- these things happen in their own time.
